What is 15-5 PH Stainless Steel?
15-5 PH is a modification of 17-4 PH, a precipitation hardening stainless steel with the optimal combination of the properties of martensitic and austenitic grades. It has the high strength from martensitic grades (gained through heat treatment) and the corrosion resistance of austenitic grades.
Heat treated conditions:
- Condition H900 (900°F)
- Condition H925 (925°F)
- Condition H1025 (1025°F)
- Condition H1075 (1075°F)
- Condition H1100 (1100°F)
- Condition H1150 (1150°F)
15-5 PH has reasonable machinability. It can be machined in the solution-annealed state or in final heat treated condition.
