Hello. We’re Penta Precision. We’re a UK-based precision machining company with over 25 years of experience, we deliver high-quality components with care, consistency, and a focus on long-term partnerships.

The Penta Promise
At Penta Precision, we believe that the smallest details make the biggest difference. Founded by five machinists over 25 years ago, we’ve built our reputation on delivering high-tolerance, complex machined components with unwavering precision and reliability. Our commitment to excellence isn’t just about the parts we produce. It’s about the partnerships we forge.
Using cutting-edge CNC technology, refined processes, and a dedication to continuous improvement, we provide manufacturers across the UK with the consistency, quality, and expertise they need to succeed. Whether you require intricate components or reliable repeat production, our team works proactively to deliver solutions that meet your exacting standards.

CNC machining
We deliver high-quality CNC machined components for customers across the UK. We specialise in CNC milling and CNC turning, as well as high-precision batch production. We work with a broad range of materials including aluminium, stainless steel, engineering plastics, and more.

Batch production
We offer one-off prototyping when it is part of a confirmed pathway to medium or high volume production. Our focus is on delivering long-term manufacturing solutions where repeatability, reliable quality, and proactive communication are critical to success.

Ongoing Partnerships
We take pride in building lasting relationships with our customers by delivering consistently high standards of quality. From initial enquiry to final delivery, we aim to be a trusted partner you can rely on for responsive service and dependable results.

Our commitment to you
Quality is embedded in everything we do. We are ISO 9001:2015 certified and follow rigorous internal procedures that go beyond standard compliance requirements.
Our quality approach is anchored by the Penta Proven Process, a six-stage workflow from quotation through to final delivery that guarantees consistency and accuracy. We maintain full traceability and documentation across all projects, and we foster a continuous improvement culture backed by regular staff development and training.
1998: From Humble Beginnings
Penta Precision was born when five like-minded engineers came together in a modest 1,500 square foot workshop at the Portsmouth Enterprise Centre. United by a shared vision and a passion for machining, they laid the foundations for a business built on quality, reliability, and teamwork.
2007: Early Recognition and Growth
Penta's dedication to best practices was officially recognised with the MAS South East Regional Best Practice Award.
As our reputation grew, we expanded into Aspen House, adding 2,000 square foot of much-needed room for our growing team and capabilities
2012: Aerospace-Grade Quality
Achieving ship-to-stock status with a major aerospace customer was a pivotal milestone. Our quality performance had exceeded 99.5% for two consecutive years.
This standard has been proudly maintained ever since. It validated our commitment to exceptional standards and opened doors to more advanced, high-precision projects.
2021: Under One Roof
We moved to our current home at Murrills Industrial Estate, doubling our factory footprint and reuniting the whole team under one roof. The move was not just about space.
We also invested in new capabilities, including our first 5-axis machining centre.
2025: A New Chapter
Penta Precision acquired RDSW Limited, trading as RDF Precision. This exciting partnership expands our CNC turning capability and strengthens our position in the UK precision machining market. It marks a new chapter that stays true to our founding vision.
Our journey continues, grounded in the same principle that started it all: to become the engineering company everyone wants to work for and everyone wants to buy from.
What our clients say

FAQs
We provide a full range of precision machining services, including CNC and manual milling and turning. In addition, we offer a dedicated design for manufacture service and manage all your finishing requirements. For more details, please visit our Services page.
We machine a wide variety of materials, including aluminium, stainless steel, brass, copper, acetal, PTFE, PEEK, and several others.
Yes. Our team collaborates closely with design engineers to help optimise components for better manufacturability, performance, and cost efficiency.
We work with a broad range of industries, including aerospace, electronics, pharmaceutical, and defence. A full overview can be found on our Industry Sectors page.
We handle a broad range of batch sizes, from small runs through to high-volume production of several thousand parts. Our typical production sweet spot is between 10 and 500 units. We only undertake one-off production when prototyping a component as part of a confirmed and ongoing production partnership. We do not offer one-off production of singular components.
ISO 9001:2015 accreditation means our quality management system meets internationally recognised standards. It ensures we have consistent processes in place for delivering high-quality parts, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
JOSCAR (Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register) accreditation means a supplier has successfully completed a comprehensive vetting process in the aerospace, defence, and security sectors to demonstrate they meet stringent quality, compliance, and security standards. This accreditation acts as a trusted, centralized record of pre-qualified suppliers, allowing buyers to efficiently verify potential partners and saving time and resources on due diligence.
We are based in Portsmouth on the south coast of England and serve customers throughout the UK. We do not deliver internationally.
Occasionally, we receive enquiries from overseas companies that wish to collaborate with us and handle their own shipping arrangements to their countries. In these cases, we offer two options:
1. Delivery to a UK address of your choice, so you can arrange shipment to your country.
2. Collection of the parts directly from our premises.
Once your components have been machined, we arrange prompt delivery. Most orders are shipped on a next-day service with a national courier, while larger consignments are dispatched on pallets. During the quotation process, we will confirm the most suitable delivery method to meet your specific requirements.
We aim to respond to all enquiries within two working days. Once we’ve reviewed your enquiry, we’ll either provide a quotation or, if your project is more complex, we will get in touch to have an in-depth technical conversation about your requirements. Timelines may vary for more complex components or RFQs with multiple line items, but we will always keep you informed of progress.
Unlike some providers, we take a meticulous approach to preparing quotes. Each part is assessed by time-served machinists who determine the most effective machining process. From this, we develop a routing plan, compile a bill of materials (BOM), and provide a precise costing. This method ensures both accurate pricing and dependable lead times for your project.
Yes. Increasingly, customers approach us without full CAD drawings, and we can support you in several ways. Our team can reverse engineer a physical component to create the required electronic files. We can also work directly from 3D models, with STP files preferred.
Our machining capabilities include:
- Milling:
• Maximum travel 1000mm (X) × 475mm (Y) × 550mm (Z)
• Maximum travel 760mm (X) × 600mm (Y) × 550mm (Z)
(allowances must be made for tooling) - Turning:
• Up to Ø260mm billet × 550mm length
• Bar feed up to Ø63.5mm (2.5”) × 300mm
For quotations, a PDF is ideal for 2D drawings. For production, we require:
- 2D: DXF files
- 3D: STP files (preferred) or IGS files
Providing the correct formats helps us process your enquiry more efficiently and ensures a smoother transition into production.
For the first three orders, we usually require companies to pay Proforma. After that, you can apply for a credit account. If you'd like to discuss a different arrangement, please contact us directly.
Yes.
You’ll have a single point of contact throughout your project, supported by our wider team. This ensures clear communication and a reliable, consistent service from enquiry to delivery.
